Materials: Fabricated and found steel, handcrafted paper Finish: Japanese Brown patina and wax Dimensions: 68” H x 12” W Design notes: Found object base reminiscent of a lady's stitching hoop inspired this floor lamp. The body was sculpted line by line to have a graceful, feminine flow to compliment the base. The overall shape reminded me of a silk bag an expensive bottle might arrive in, so I wrapped and tied off the ends like you might a silk bag. With the "bones" of the lamp body exposed, I decided to expose the "ribs" of the shade. The finishing touch was leathery paper that looked like an animal hide. And there was Skin and Bones.
